You should be sure that which type of device you are looking for,for that look at your life style and daily uses for ex:- if you are a party type go for a device which do have good camera and good looks or if you are a businessman then go for apple iphone because its ui is very simple and lite so its works fast,responise and dont have too much bloatware you can go for it(not higly recommend if your budget is low)
3-great specifications at your budget
You should be sure that you are getting a good specs like if you are looking for low budget then just look for good display effcient battery and processor dont think except a good camera in low budget most of the device doesn't have good camera
And if you are looking for mid range device than look for good battery,great display,pixel density of display good chipset like snapdragon (not mediatek)looks and good camera and brand too according to the service of the manufacturer of the device in your city or area
And if you are looking for high range smartphone
Then go for branding like samsung,apple,virtue,sony etc
And a nice battery backup,good processor too(should be higer than snapdragon 625 or a10) and looks depends on you
